Will it be ok to use my GHD straighteners abroad? I have got a plug adaptor that will fit into the different outlet, but I have previously heard that peoples GHD's have blown up on holiday, should they be ok?

Yeah they should be fine. I heard that lots of people's GHD's blew up but they were recalled a short while ago because it was a fault in the straightners. I used them for two weeks solid in Greece without a problem. And the year before that. And the year before that too!
Remember though that some countries work on 110V instead of our 230V (places like the USA) so if the straighteners are not dual voltage then they may not heat up enough - found this out the hard way and had to buy new ones specially when out there for the Mrs.

Thanks for the tip rekstout! Well I'm off to Greece and Doolallygirl has been so I am sure mine should work fine there. And if not then I will send my man out to buy me some more!!! ;O)
The ones that blew up didn't happen on holidays - it was a fault with GHDs, I brought mine abroad twice last year and its fine, just takes a while longer to heat up cos the voltage is lower
Ooh funny you should say that as i was talking about this with my hairdresser today. she mentioned they didn't work on holiday and she was lost without them but there are some travel ones out now but they aren't as good as the normal ones.
They will be fine- mine were permanently on in Lanzarote and I had no problem whatsoever. Just don't keep them on the highest setting all the time.
