Can you take sandwiches through airport security checks ?

I know that you cannot take drinks through, but how do they feel about sandwiches ?

If I cannot take sandwiches through, does anyone know if Glasgow airport has a nice sandwich shop the other side of security ?

I recently took my own sandwiches on a Ryanair flight. there was no problem.

I've had a look at the Glasgow airport website and it seems that there are some sandwich places after the security checks, so I think we'll be OK.
