I have so much pain in my foot and will be going to the doc but wondered if anyone would recognise what it might be.

The top of my left foot has swollen, right on the bone but I know bones cant swell (can they?) and the veins on my foot seem pronounced too. I have tried several types of boots, and it doesnt seem like its a footwear problem as even soft loose boots hurt. I was on a long-haul flight few months ago which had caused swelling in both feet but wouldnt think it would be that. Its getting so painful to walk that I have been limping.

Hi weeal
It could be a type of gout, or even a touch of arthritis.
You really ought to see your GP, especially as you have been on a long haul flight.
Probably nothing to worry about but have it checked out anyway.
PS finished the ironing! wasn't that quick.

oops cruella, i forgot to come back to this lol

It feels like arthritis (got it in my knees since a kid) but i thought that was only in joints, not sure that this is a joint but will deff see doc this week, its agony
this sounds more like arthritis rather than gout. is your right foot sore as well. no the bones cant swell but the fluid in the joints around them can swell making the foot feel painful and tight. if this continues take a short course of anti-inflammataries if you can and make an appt for your gp. could you have hurt you foot in any way?

been thinking again, do you do a lot of walking? it could be something as simple as a stress or march fracture
