I had a perm on Thurs (spiral on fine shoulder length hair) and waited til today to wash it. I specifically asked for a lot of lift in the roots and today there's nothing, flat as a pancake. Also, if the hair relaxes much more there'll be nothing much left but a light wave. After loads of perms (once every 2 years) this is the first time i've ever had anything go wrong and i'm far from happy.

What can they do to put this right? Will they have to re-perm it? Can they actually do that? And do i have a right to complain about it?

Any help gratefully received, i'm gutted!

You should definitely go back. Since you have had perms before and this one is a bad perm, you have every right to complain.
Yes - a root perm is a straightforward procedure. They should do it free of charge, and perhaps a voucher for your next cut.

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, sometimes you just need to know you're not whinging!

Just called and got an appointment with the manager of the salon who's going to work out what to do,he couldn't have been nicer about it too, phew! What is it with us Brits and our phobia of complaining about bad service?!

Thanks once again :o)
I had a couple of perms many years ago and both times it fell out within a week. I got my money back on the 2nd time I went.
