Spotting during pregnancy
I am 12 weeks pregnant. I had a scan last Thursday and everything was fine and normal baby's heart was beating. Then on Friday i had some spotting when I wiped myself, it wasnt in my knickers just very light when i wiped myself. This then turned to a brown discharge but again it was only light and mainly when I wiped myself. It stopped yesterday morning really. I went to the EPU and the gynaecologist done an internal examination and said everything looked fine but it could be a threatened miscarraige. I havent had any major tummy cramps but I am so worried something is wrong. Im going for a scan later this afternoon but im scared to go incase I have lost the baby or something. I had a miscarraige last year at 8 weeks and had lots of brown discharge but no bleeding it was only on going to the scan there was no heartbeat. Im worried this might be the same. can anyone help or advise me??

Im sorry lexy, on your other post on health and fitness you didnt mention your previous loss.
I can understand why you dont want to go to the scan for fear of what they may say but the differences between 8 weeks and 12 weeks are huge and the risks are greatly lowered.
As i said before there are many causes of slight spotting and they are not always a risk to baby.

hope everything was fine in your scan.i also had a scan last thursday,everything was fine,heartbeat ok etc but said that i wasnt 12wks till today.on saturday went to the toilet i had blood on underwear and when i wiped myself(it was very red).i was put on bed rest,midwife came after 1hr where by now the bleeding had stopped.she found the babys heartbeat and said it was very strong.midwife came again today,once again found the heartbeat so please DO NOT panick everything can be just as it should be.but take it easy from now on,i sure am going to.

Thats good that the midwife comes to you, I havent even seen my midwife yet, I dont see her till 7th November and by then Ill be 15 weeks. I think its a long time before she sees me. When I had my little girl they see me much earlier than that. I booked in with the nurse at my doctors when Iw as 9 weeks but she didnt even give me any emergency numbers or anything I had to find them out for myself.

im so glad for you with the scan i cant wait to go for my second scan now at 12 of december.havent you had your blood tests done at 10/11wks(blood group,rubella etc)had mine done but seeing midwife again with gyno doctor at 8 of november to do the dawns test and see if i can go through labour or c section
No I havent had anything like that done yet. Thats why I thought it was weird last time I see the midwife a couple of weeks after i had booked in with the nurse at my doctors. She gave me the forms to have my blood tests done then but this time I dont see the midwife for the first time until im 14 weeks. Ive got my 20 week scan on 19th December, cant wait either.

When I was expecting for the first time 6 years ago, I was seeing my midwife every four weeks and then more often towards the end. Im now 21 weeks and I have seen the midwife twice! Once for my booking in appointment which was in July. Again Septmeber 12th for a check up. I dont see her again til the 27th November! Which considering Im having one problem after another, I think is getting ridiculous!

I'm now nearly 30 weeks pregnant and have had quite a hard time being pregnant. not morning sickness or anything, but ive had about 5 bleeds, and had to have Anti D injections as i have rhesus negative blood.
I know its probably no comfort, but i bled at 6 weeks, 9 weeks, 17 weeks 20 and 25 weeks. every time i had an internal examination and had swabs taken etc and everything was fine.
Midwife says it could be an erosion on the cervix which is nothing to worry about but it causes bleeding in some women.
Dont worry, you could be like me and bleed throughout... it doesnt mean anything is wrong.
Do listen to them and take care not to do too much.
