vauxhall astra envoy fault

I have a S reg Vauxhall Astra Envoy which was the first of this particular model. The dashboard won't function. The speedo etc go off.
My mechanic said the fuse is ok and an auto electrician has checked both control boxes.
Has anyone an answer please?
