the things I have learnt for sure are:

Nothing is ever what is seems.
Nothing goes according to plan, sometimes for the better.
People let you down. Sometimes even the people you think you can trust, you can't.
Friends will always make you feel good. Friends with chocolate will make you feel better.
The advice you don't want to hear, is the right advice.
There are no mistakes, only research.
Change is the only thing thats permanent.

What have you learnt?

Ruby, going back to your original question: did you just learn these things now? Wait until you get older: there are numerous other presents to be bestowed upon you!

Hey Stewey.. I don't know if I only just learned them but I certainly just realised them. Especially the 'Nothing ever goes as planned' one.... I think my life is run by that one.

I just thought of some more...

There will always be someone who will want to bring you down. But if you can be happy enough in yourself, you can hold your happy mood and reject the negative.

People often insult others with an insult that they would really use to describe themselves. It's a 'defence mechanisim' that psychologists have proved. To call someone a liar, often means you are one yourself and you know it, but force this accusation upon someone else as if to 'rid' yourself of such a negative attribute.

Kp - That is lovely. I hope you two will be very happy together and always remember to not let the small burdens in life take away the beauty of such a precious relationship.

A quote I always liked:
"Marriage hath in it less of beauty but more of safety, than the single life; it hath more care, but less danger, it is more merry, and more sad; it is fuller of sorrows, and fuller of joys; it lies under more burdens, but it is supported by all the strengths of love and charity, and those burdens are delightful."

Stewey - I think it was 'Life is what happens while you are making other plans'.. I was never a Lennon fan but that is a good one.

Rubes don't trust Cat and Pixie. They spread false rumours about people who they don't even know. You don't know if it's one of them who's presently breaking your chops. They are sneaky and sly. Be on your guard.

Thanks Society and perhaps that is true that you can't trust everyone. I will live by my mistakes if I have made them.. But as they have never done anything bad to me. I won't shut them out.

Oooh I just thought of another one:

People will only ever learn by their own mistakes.
Goodnight, Ruby, and keep in mind: Life is a patch-work quilt; get as many patterns in as possible.
