Its supposed to stimulate white blood cells and improve the lymphatic symptoms. So it should make your defenses better against infections, colds etc

Tablets are no good though, you need to take it in the liquid form, drop it in your orange juice or something.
i have only tried it in tablet form, didn't know
you could get it in liquid to be honest

Usually it comes as a tincture, and you would take a few drops (either straight or in a glass of juice or something). I used to know a herbalist who told me that you do not take echinacea regularly, because it can over-stimulate your immune system, and so weaken it. The best time to take it is just when you start to feel something coming on. That's what my friend said.
Haven't used it but my colleague swears by it but as with the previous post she takes regular breaks from it so as not to weaken her immune system
there has been study after study that proves echinacea cant fight infection by taking it when it starts to come on. YOu have to take 4 times the recommended dose just to shorten the length of a cold, hence the recommendation to take it every day to stop infection from occuring (as often)
I take it when I first start getting a sore throat or cold symptoms, and it always seems to stop it getting any worse. Who knows if it works or not- all I know is it works for me!
