How can I grow my hair?

I was looking at a picture of myself from last summer, and realized that my hair has not grown AT ALL since then. I thought maybe it was because my hair was really split at the ends, so I got it trimmed. But the reason I didn't get it trimmed sooner is because it seems like every time I get it trimmed, I'm just cutting off what little bit DID grow. If I were to get trims every 6 weeks like I'm supposed to, I would eventually end up bald, and I'm not exaggerating at all. My hair just doesnt grow fast enough! And I'm pretty sure that by the time it's as long as it was before my trim, it will also be just as split and I'll just have to get it hacked off again. Is it true that pregnant women's hair grows faster? Because I am 3 1/2 months pregnant and I would cry tears of joy if that would happen for me. Also, I've heard prenatal vitamins (which i'm taking) help a lot too. Is that true? Right now my hair is a little past my shoulders. I would LOVE if it would grow a few more inches. Any ideas?

I think some peoples hair just grows faster than others (mine grows very fast about half an inch to 3/4 inch a month - my sister in laws grows the same about every 4 months), however if your hair is weak/split it will break off so trimming it keeps it in good condition, use conditioner to avoid tearing hair when brusdhing.
When your pregnant your hair appears to grow thicker because normally you lose about 150 hairs a day and during pregnancy you don't BUT, after the baby you will start losing all the hair you retained - I lost handlefuls ff it. your not going bald just back to normal.
