Hi People,

I have been on Diazepam for 20 years now and managed to get myself down to just quarter a day as i was finding it hard to go without them.

I have now decided to come off them all together and I just wondered if anyone knew how long it usually takes for the withdrawal symptoms to go away.

Symptoms are things like feeling sick and light headed. Also aching limbs.

I don't want to go back on them now as it's been 3 days so any positive advice or similar experiences to egg me on would be good. Also as stated, any ideas as to how long it takes to feel normal again. I know everyone is different, but some ideas would be nice.

Thanks very much

Thanks. I feel a bit more hopeful now that i know the feeling passes.

Thanks you
Well done Rosenicola! It's not easy withdrawing from these addictive drugs,My tip, drink as much water or diluted juice as you can, this hasten's the elimanation process. Good luck!
As you have been taking them for such a long time it might take your body a long time to get accustomed to not having the drug. It will pass and I wouldnt want to hazard a guess at how long but if I were you I would take up a good detoxing diet and some form of excercise. Even though you may not feel like I am sure after a little work out you will get some relief even if only temporary.
If you are on a quarter of a tablet per day (2, 5, or 10mg ?), then you are on a maximum 2.5 mg. This is a very low dose and you should have no problem losing it altogether. Good luck, you will find that sensation of permanent slight muzziness is a thing of the past..
