Hi, can anyone help, was diagnosed with this yesterday, following a heart check up a month ago. the doctor says that from my ECG results it shows I have had a 'sleeping' heart attack at some point in the past. She asked if I have ever had any chest pain, which I have not. She said I could either wait a few months and then come back and see her, or she can refer me to a cardiologist. I prob did'nt ask the right things, as I am so fit and healthy I was expecting a clean bill of health, so I was in a bit of shock. What is the likely future? I am going to go back, but just wondered if anyone had any ideas.

Hi - my mum in law was also informed that she had had a heart attack and knew nothing about when nor had any pain. When she spoke to a cardiologist they told her nothing needed to change - just eat healthily, and exercise gently but not to worry about it......i know it seems strange to have had a heart attack and know nothing about when it occurred - just write down all the questions you'd like answering and i'm sure the cardiologist will put your mind at rest. good luck.
