Hey guys,

Well I'm getting married next year and I need some ideas for a song. My cousins are going to sing as I walk up the eisle to my guy, but I have no idea on a suitable song. Any ideas of something nice, that would be appropriate? It's a civil ceremony so we can't have anything religious. Oh and my singers are all female.

Thanks in advance x x

The greatest love song EVER EVER EVER.

Surely a song that is special to both you and your BF would be suitable? A slushy song that makes you both go all gooey and makes you think of each other? Unless of course it's Being Your Daughter To The Slaughter or Smack My Bitch Up, then I'd have a radical rethink!

Congratulations too :-)

This is a great song which could be sang acapella by a group of birds, no problem. It is about getting married and all the benefits such a unison brings.
im assuming presario may be youngish ie under 30 years old david bowie and the beach boys might not rock their boat.
Billy Connelly, D-I-V-O-R-C-E!
I just love this, suitable for all voices

James Taylor and Carol King - magic!
When my bro and sis in law got married one of her friends sang for them in the church. She sand The Corrs "No Frontiers"..its was beautiful....but like B00 says, if you make it something that is special to you both then you cant go wrong.

All the best xxxx
My best friend sang 'The Rose' at my wedding, years before poxy westlife got near it . Still a beautiful song though.x
tara, you have just made my day , thank you . thank you
You're welcome, crete.
Call me old fashioned, but those songs are timeless.
Crazy - Gnarls Barkley or
Eye of the Tiger?

Can they hum the theme tune to Jaws? What about Highway to Hell by AC/DC?
'From This Moment On' by Shania Twain.

Thanks guys, a few good ideas :-)

Yep I'm under 30, will be 25 when I get married, oh it's so exciting. Well "our song" is "In the Morning" by Razorlight (long story) but I guess it's not the best to walk down to my man to lol.
My guy is not a slushy music bloke so we don't have a song that is special to use. Been trawling through the celine dion cds but didn't really hear anything I thought would be good to walk down the eisle to. A few nice songs to be sung during the signing of the register though :-)
The trouble with this is that there will be an element of cheesiness to a few, especially some modern songs which you may come to regret in a few years. One way to avoid this is to choose, if not a religiousy type song (sung in latin to avoid smirks or confusion er is it religious or classical?) Ave Maria need not be reserved for religious ceremonies. Maybe something classical? Some operatic arias or cantatas etc are timeless, but it is all down to a matter of taste.

Be careful though, although something like Pie Jesu might sound heavenly, it is a song about death! Another song you might consider could be from a musical such as One Hand One Heart from West Side Story. Bon chance.
this song is beautiful its sung by sarah brightman, im thinking of having it at my wedding, i was in the same boat as you trying to think of a song. ive always loved sarah brightman. i think if you had your cousins singing this type of song you'd have the place in floods! the words are lovely too!

sorry about the video, its weird! lol

congrats & good luck x
At the risk of soundd overly soppy you could always adapt a song especially for the day. I'd had a play around (hence it's a bit crap) with Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls as an example of something that could sound lovely with musical accompaniment eg making more appropriate words fit. and shorten as neccesary...

And Id give up forever to touch you
and I know that you feel the same way
Youre the closest to heaven that Ill ever be
And with you forever Ill stay

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later lifes over
And I just want to spend it your wife

Chorus
And I want the whole world to see me
As I know that theyd all understand
Our bond isnt made to be broken
Youre the one who knows who I am

And I cant fight the tears that keep coming
From the love that I see in your eyes
When everything feels like the movies
When I met you I knew Im alive

Chorus
awww....jenna will you sing your song at my wedding ;o)
If you like Sarah Brightman (I know that is Buzybee and not Presario) how about "All I ask of You?" I am sure it could be adapted to all female singers. It is a lovely song though.

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you
dont know if your cousins could sing it but we had "this tears love" by david gray. The lyrics are good without being too sloppy. Well we thought so. Happy wedding day
