Hairdresser etiquette?

I've been going to my hairdresser for 18 months now and gradually she changed me from blue/black hair to mid blonde highlights which I loved! I also had a few thickening extensions of real hair too. A few months ago I decided to go dark again, which I found surprising difficult to cope with even though I'd spent all mylife that colour. Anyway, I've had a few highlighst back in, but I'd relaly like to go back to a lighter highlighted blonde shade. My problem is, my hairdresser took months to get me to that shade and we had a few gingery moments as she's not a colour expert. Would it be bad manners for me to go to another hairdressers to go lighter again, then return to my own for maintenance root colour and extensions?

No thats what I do and my hairdresser's fine with it but before you do, check if there's a good colourer at the place you are now because if there is you can book for them to colour and her to style.
