Scones Self Raise.....Pastry I use SR if you want a harder one use plain. Hot Cross plain if you are doing a yeast recipe.
I follow the example of my Grandmother. I use plain flour all the time and add baking powder when the recipe calls for self-raising.
SR for scones, plain for pastry and strong plain for yeast recipes...XXX
