Why remove a debate on the hypocritical actions of Britain?

Just as I was about to reply to the last comment, where the deluded person did not actually read the previous posts, i.e it has nothing to do with not allowing them their religion, but in not seeing that it could be used as a means of criminal (if not terrorist) activities, hiding, yes hiding behind a veil. Before replying read the comments!!

My 7 year old wears hooded tops only because they have skateboarders on them and he isnt a yob.

Anybody that can say they are "English" as opposed to just "British". Don't become pedantic and say the brits make up the Welsh, Irish and Scottish also, I'm sure you know what I am saying?

Your on, unrulie - your place or mine? lol ;-)

pa__ul you havent offended me lol, we're just debating in a friendly manner, as it should be,the point i am trying to make is that, if the face should be visible in one group of people and not another, then surely that is unfair. To me, a full face, including eyes veil is equally intimidating. Insinuating all kids who are (so called) hoodies are a threat is like saying all muslims are terrorists! We know thats not true and yet the hoodies still have to remove. Im probably going off the original argument now but i think it should be equal. I stand by the argument that anybody could be under one of thoses veils, not just good muslim wives and mothers. If the veils dont have to be removed then why should bikers and hoodies have to remove theirs?
My Asian taxi driver this morning made a comment about the number of Eastern-Europeans heading to England. He obviously considered this to be 'his country' too...

Not according to any forms that one has to fill in. They ask for your nationality and the boxes to tick state if British, non-British, ethnic etc etc. I personally cross out British and write in "English" (after all, in all due respect the Irish, Welsh and Scottish folks are allowed to state the country if origin) but however many generations down, the people of which this is about cannot do that!!

As I said before, pa_ul - this is my Country, and I should be allowed to have the same freedom as anyone who lives here!

Unrulie, are you going to do the "dance of the seven veils"?? Most appropriate, don't ya think? ;-)

Yes naz, but this time don't forget to load the camera!! Lol

You have missed my point pa__ul. I do not, not embrace all the cosmopolitan diversity that our country embraces. I just feel that it should be a two-way street when it comes to what is allowed or not allowed in this country. I am not requesting that we don't allow people to have their own beliefs etc, far from it, but we also should be permitted to have ours. (There is/was a thread regarding this issue Sat night). For local government/councils etc to ban Christmas fairy lights or Nativity plays in schools, because we might offend the ethnic people amongst us, is diabolical!! Surely in this country we should follow our beliefs also. As another aber pointed out, we all should have choices, not only given to people who have chosen to live here.

pa___ul ... you talk about beliefs ... would you therefore ask a ''proper'' Hells Angel to remove their crash-helmet?

well, if i ever decide to rob a bank, i know exactly what to wear!!

or perhaps if i decide to burgle a house, shoplift, mug someone, rob a car, arson attack....yes this is brilliant news... i am sure i can knock up a burkha in no time on my sewing machine!!

I may make a load and start selling them to the local yobs, so they can commit as much crime as they like and never be recognised - good little earner for me...
