welcome back sft, are you prepared to be a guinea pig for ANY medical procedure that we might be entertained by? :-)
I am assuming that it worked then? How much does it cost? I've never been clear if after the surgery that your site will be corrected for ever, or could it start to deteriorate again after a while, do you know?

Well I'm not using a braille keyboard! Yes I am pretty happy with the results and after only a week I seem to have returned to "normal" vision though I still have to go back for my first aftercare visit in which my eyesight will be measured to check on the exact level of improvement.

Skelly like any surgical procedure there is some risk involved and they don't assure you that your sight will be 20/20 or that any improvement will be permanent (in fact one of the big points they make is that after the age of 40 chances are that most people will need reading glasses and there is NO surgical operation yet to remove this type of condition) but the figures they quote are typically 98% of patiants have achived a legal driving standard of vision.

As for cost, I got a special offer just finished now, on both eyes for 795...if this seems daft some people with more severe prescriptions have it done one eye at a time to monitor the effects,,,, but I can only comment on the company I used Optimax.....if you interested try this link http://www.optimax.co.uk or phone 08705 14 33 14.

And it all depends what you have in mind Treacle!! Are you finally going to get me this extra length all these emails have been promising me (or maybe it will be the bigger breasts one!)
where did you get it done? did you have to go to the mainland for it?
Question Author
Hi there....well first of all I have moved back to the mainland now and I got it done in Glasgow where I'm now living. The company named in the answer to Skelly is the biggest in the UK and they don't have a NI branch....This is the only company with a branch in Belfast (Lisburn Road) though I have no experience with them http://www.eyeclinic.co.uk/mod_1/pages/index.php .
Thanks, it's something i've often considered but never really looked into properly (no pun intended). I think i'll do a bit of reading up now. In any case my money is pretty tied up for the next year or so, so i've got a bit of time to think about it. I'll be able to monitor your progress and look out for any obvious side affects ;o)
