he'll get a fine for not producing his details.
claire is right, it will be a fine, don't worry, and don't pay it yourself either, he won't forget again will he,we all have to learn the hard way. if it is the same policeman pulling him over all the time, complain to the chief constable, when I was younger the same one stopped me every week for months till I reported him.
thing is he will have had at least a few days (in fact is it not a week or more) to produce the documents at the police station.

Adn while i'm here, did you know that if you report a traffic accident ijn person at the police station and don't have your own details with you, YOU will get a producer and face a fine if you don't comply?!

thankyou very much.he gets pulled by the same and different ones too,its nearly every weekend, his car is an audi with tinted windows,i think they just like to pull him all the time for the fun of it.cheers again god us mums dont half worry about our kids even when there adults, and no i wont be paying for it,hes in a good job,he wouldnt ask anyway x
tradey, if the same policeman pulls him again I would report him, a lot of them do have it in for the young lads, easy target, we never stop worrying do we, I only said don't pay it cos the first time my youngest got fined I was going to pay, then thought no way,let him learn, Ray
It might be sensible also if he got a less conspicuous car, audis with tinted windows? they will be watching for this. Mums don' always know what their sons do and at some point he was probably over the speed limit, we all do it a little but if his car is noticeable then they will have im!
Not street cred I know but one that doesn't attract so much attention might help. Also have a word with your community officer if you have such a thing, that might help.

why should he change his car,he works and your only here once why not have what you want if you can afford it.thankyou for your help though i feel much better now
If your son is always being stopped by the police, don't you think it possibly says something about his behaviour? I know you're his mother and probably can think no wrong of him, but you'd be surprise how kids behave when they're out of their parents' sight.
Is he regularly mixing with a group of friends who are well known to the police and he's just getting tarred with the same brush.
Could you perhaps persuade him to try staying in a little more at week-ends or seeing his friends at home? Maybe this would keep him out of the trouble he regularly seems to be getting involved in.

like ive said before hes never been in trouble with the police or anyone else for that matter,i know im his mum but i also know hes a good lad,his mates are sound too my son doesnt drink or take drugs hes very against it,goes mad at me coz i smoke, how do you think and why should i make a nearly 22yr old stay in with his mates umm i dont think so.im not worried what my sons up to,but maybe like eyeshade says it must be the car.
Just as a matter of point, if tradey's son was doing something illegal he would be getting arrested or at least getting 'real' court summons'. As it is he simply gets asked for his ID and this one time he didn't have it he got a producer which he forgot about. I actually think the reason he gets pulled is because he is young and has a nice car and chances are the police probably think that it is stolen, harsh but true.

(just as a point of reference I got pulled a few months ago cos I was driving my car with a bin bag over a broken window and the policeman admitted that he was checking that the car wasn't stolen - they always asume the worst!)
Question Author
thankyou claireyfairy, why do people just think the worst of a young lad,in a nice car,why shouldnt he have a nice car he works hard, hasnt got a family of his own so why not spend his money on something he wants,it makes my son angry, when he tells me hes been pulled again, when there are people out there doing wrong, its always the inocent that get pestered by the police thankyou again for your advice ill let you know what happends thursday, hes asked me to go with him so if it was something more why want me there
Worse case, tell him to prepare for getting a bit of grief for forgetting. They'll probably get all teacher-ish on him - why is it that "i forgot" is not a good enough reason yet it's something that we all genuinely do?!?!
Question Author
yep i know,we all forget things, even the police do.but i know he was in the wrong for not taking his papers, but i feel much better now thankyou to you nice abbers x
