How does a shy guy talk to women?

I've been single for a while and finally plucked up the bottle to go out on my own at the weekend, but I didn't stay out long!

I went to a local bar/club and saw some nice women, but (despite being told in the past that I'm not a bad looking guy) I wasn't looked at, smiled at or chatted to once :o(

I was trying to pluck up the courage to approach some of them, but they looked so stern and un-approachable that I didn't feel that I'd be "welcome".

Do any ladies have any sensible and genuine advice as to what I can do the next time I go out?

My intentions are purely honourable, but I am open to suggestions :o)

If YOU tell me if YOU are loaded, I'll divulge! :o)

Do you drive.

Whereabouts you from?

If all of your answers "pass the test" I may give ya me e-mail addy! :op
Unfortunately I'm not loaded....if I were I might have learned to drive....lol The piece da la resistance..... I'm from Essex, but do not own any stiletto's or Burberry!

Hi Lisa

I want to meet a lady who can drive and whop is local to me - sorry hun xx
Oh well.....
You are to fussy.
No wonder you are single
lol.....did cross my mind!
Question Author
oh_no_oh_no - get lost!

What is wrong with wanting someone who is local and can drive? Blimey if that is being fussy then God knows what you would say about some people I know who have LOADS of "musts" on their lists!

If somnce drives (as I do) and is local, we can see each other at the drop of a hat, share driving duties and help each other out!

If you have any other opinions, please stick them where the sun don't shine! :o)
You're the single one not me matey.
No need to be so aggresive in your responce to what i have said.

Again i can see why you are single.
Question Author
Well, bully for you! So, not only are you "in a relationship", but you are also condescedning and self-opinionated too! Blimey, I bet all the girls are envious of your woman! :o)

So i was just supposed to take your nasty criticism and say nothing?

BTW, I wasn't being aggressive ata ll - it's not in my nature. I was merely telling you to keep your holier tha thous opinions to yourself. I was asking the advice of decent people, not someone who feel the need to put people down in a public forum!
i am a woman and disregarding divegirl over the fact she can not drive is you being nice?

Which part of "I want to meet someone who can drive so as we can put equal effort into seeing each other, etc" is not nice?!

I suppose you are the kind of woman who expects the guy to put in ALL the effort and who takes, takes, takes!

Anyway, I'm not gonna waste my time with your pathetic put down anymore. Think what you like from now on!
.....hides in the corner...... calm down people....lol

The fact that divegirl lives in Essex was also a factor. She is probably a lovely lady, but I've done the "long distance thing" and it isn't for me, but that's probably wrong in your eyes too oh_no_oh_no!
it was the way you just cut her off so rudely when she had made the effort to be nice to you. I read what you wrote and thought what a jerk. Sure you are nice in the real world.
Question Author
And what else was I supposed to say? I said "sorry" and I gave her a couple of kisses - blimey! I wasn';t as rude to her as you were to me.

The written word can be mis-interpreted or over-intperpreted and you've labelled me as the complete opposite if what I actually am, but never mind.

There was no need for you to be condescending and rude to me in the first place :o(

anyway, I'm not argumentative and I started this thred of coz I genuinely am shy and wanted some nice, constructive advice.
