My chili turned out too spicy. How can I tone down the spice?

Click here for a similar question I asked some years ago. It referred to curry, but the suggestions made by others and myself should work equally well for chilli. Have a look.
If it is chilli, you may find that soured cream is better than yoghurt , which is great for 'cooling down' a curry.
the mexicans add a little chocolate.yummy
add anything sugary, so chocolate, tomato ketchup or just sugar itself
