I have a friend that has a mobile phone from 4 years ago, he won't change his mobile and i think he looks sad! I believe this is a massive turn off to ladies, what do you think guys/gals?

why is that sad? Ive got a 3 year old phone at the moment because my upgrade last year got dropped down a portaloo :) I much prefer my old one anyway.
I don't think I'd want to attract the sort of ladies who would attach any credance to what mobile I've got.
I don't think it's sad at all.

I once gave my number to a guy, and as he was tapping it into his mobile he turned around and apologised for his mobile saying, "...I lost my other one and have a new one coming out to me." I thought it was an irrelevant thing to say, and also quite pompous. It actually put me off him!

But if we're talking about the original mobiles where you carried a crate around with you and had to wind it up then that's a whole other story!!!
I have had mine for 4 years ..nokia 3310 I think and if somone told me to change it cus i looked sad , I would belt them!!
I love having the latest mobiles but i would never consider someone sad for what phone they have, no matter how old. I like to think it would take a little more than someone having a 4 year old phone to make me feel that way about them.
I agree with Loosehead... there are much worse turn offs than someone's mobile phone!
No I think its more sad when a person thinks someones persessions shows what they are like. Who cares as long as they have a good loving personality
*possesions*
ive had my phone for about 4 years, its a samsung thing and im actually quite attached to it. i'll only upgrade when it stops working, which unfortunately won't be far away as the buttons are wearing out.

a few people have said stuff about my phone but it really doesnt bother me id rather spend my money on something more interesting
I think you sound incredible shallow!
What something more interesting would you rather spend your money on ketchupkid if you don't mind me asking?!

oh!!! mr Minter... referring to you and mr Bowie.... i did have a fav from a film called The Falcon and The Snowman.... think it was called This is Not America....

sorry to hijack ur thread mwhaley..... just a thought....
which company mwhaley?... if they need him to have a new phone they'll supply it lol....
Pretty shallow to judge someone base on their mobile phone.

I use to have an old Ericsson GF768 up to last year, but the battery weren't charging and the antenna snapped off, so I was only force to buy a new one otherwise I would have stuck with it. As long as it can revceive calls. Who cares!

One great advantage of having an old (crappy) mobile phone is that you less likely to attract thieves.

i think the person who is complaining about the guy with the old mobile is more sad.
