I was in Boots at lunchtime and this guy came up to me and said ' I just had to tell you that if I wasnt involved you would be just my type - but then you're probably involved as well.'He WAS on his own - but the spark was there and to ne honest he wasnt gorgeous but there was a connection.I have been left strangly disconcerted and I wouldnt like to think my man would do that - but it leaves you thinking - was he the one who was always meant for me.I know I sound tragic but has anyone else had Brief Encounters?

i kind of know what you mean i had a very brief encounter once when i was on holiday in ireland and this guy tried to chat me up ( crap line i have to admit ) but he looked eyes with me and took my hand for a second and i have to say this happened about 4 years ago and he still comes into my mind sometimes , ggrrr if my boyfriend hadnt of been waiting at the bar for me !!!!!
and that should say he locked eyes with me , sorry !!

Once. On a motorway traffic jam. He was in the next lane, and it seemed that we both turned and looked at each other at the same time...he mouthed 'Hi' and I returned the favour ~ sparks flew!

Then the traffic moved on...

I've always known when I've met someone that I was gonna be involved with them sometime in the future. And I do belive in it thats why I love that song by Savage Garden - I know I loved you before I met you....

i went out just b4 christmas and got chatting some guys (they had saved me from a sleazy italian that didn't understand no!!) anyway one of the blokes had his back to me so i tapped him on the shoulder and told him it was rude, he just looked at me and whispered in my ear 'i really wish u weren't married' and kissed me on the cheek!! at that precise moment i wished i wasn't married!! like u said drisgirl he wasn't drop dead gorgeous but there was something about him. i've gone all funny thinking about him now!!

p.s the feeling of me not wanting to b married only lasted til i got home when i saw my husband still up waiting for me so he knew i got in ok and wouldn't b on my own if i was very drunk and being sick!!

I don't think it was reciprocated, but a few years ago, I was in a strange town, and lost, so I stopped a girl to ask directions. While I was talking to her, I noticed what absolutely gorgeous eyes she had, so as she turned to walk away, I said "You have the most beautiful eyes ...." and she turned back looking gobsmacked.

Because I didn't want her to think I was perving, I smiled and said "I just wanted to tell you that, thanks for the directions ...." and I turned and walked away.

I have no idea what she thought of me, or what I said, but I hope she felt complimented, because that was my sole intention.

You sweetheart!!!

O gawd Andy - it just leaves you weak and I bet she was left feeling the same as we all are - even years later. Its the what if...............

Hey Dris.. I copied and pasted this from a thread a while a back that answered on but I was chuffed for ages...

On another note but relatively similar, I went to lunch with a friend a couple of weeks ago, a guy (nice looking with Owen Wilson hair) crouched at our table and endeavoured to tell me I was beautiful and that after he saw me smile, he had to come and take his chances before he had to go back to work and ask me out on a date. I looked around to see if anyone was laughing cause I could not believe it wasn't some kind of joke. Alas, I thanked him for being kind and explained I was engaged to which he responded " Thats a shame cause I'll be thinking about you for a long time" My heart melted, if only something like that happened every day.

As for you would hate to think of your other half doing it, mine does it all the time. He brings back girls numbers ALL the time, do I believe for one minute that he just gets them without flirting beforehand. No I dont!! Then I dont give a rats arse what he does anymore.

All together now

Sing

Just being silly and thinking of Robbie Williams................ :o)

i was waiting for my mum outside a shop once and this stunning man came out and we looked at eachother and he stopped and we were just looking at eachother for a few seconds, made the hairs on my neck tingle, then mum came out of the shop and drove me off and he was still watching the car when i looked back.

Never saw him again, knew the company he worked for, but what would i say lol, luckily i had the very same sparks when i first set eyes on my partner, the second i saw him i liked him and still get the same feelings after 2 and a half years of living together!

oooh Dris!! Meet you in Boots on Saturday?? lol
Question Author

Cats - think he was a foreigner up for the berries.LOL.

About 1pm Saturday- but he probably just works in the centre and I bet I'll never see him again.I dont know if I want to - to be honest! Not the way I'm feeling just now!

lol yeah best not to hon, it probably wouldnt be the same. Though saying that, I first saw Mr Cat when he stumbled past my table in a cafe when I was 15 and he was 16, I knew there and then he was the one for me :-)That was 14 years ago!

Didnt know you had been with him that long - thats sweet - but neither of you were probably involved,

It causes a wee bit havoc when you are(;

It's amazing how you can be left thinking 'what if' after such a short encounter. It's happened to me a few times but the one which always sticks out is a guy I met in London. He was from New Orleans and had the sexiest accent. I was definitely on fire that night as I had so much male attention! He singled me out and came over to chat. We got on so well and had one of those moments where you just look into each other's eyes and you fall, y'know? Anyway, he asked me out on a date and I had to utter the words, "Sorry, I have a boyfriend." Thing was, my boyfriend was a complete waste of space and I knew it at the time and although I really wanted to say, "Yes! Take me out now!" I just couldn't do that to my man. Needless to say I regretted it.

However, now I have the sexiest, funniest most wonderful boyfriend in the whole widest world, so it's all irrelevant now! hahahaha!
Yeah would have been awful if he had been taken!! (or me lol)
she hasnt been with him that long , she knew she was the man of her dreams but she decided to shag about for ten years first just incase she had misinterpretted( sp you know the word im trying for ) her dream !!!!!
