depends what your op is snowball, when the LA wears off it might be very painful, so i don't think i'd say i was going into work just incase.

hope it goes ok for you

Thanks for that. The op is an abortion. and I live/work in Japan, and short of my own death there is no excuse for taking a sick day in a japanese company, so i think i will need to battle through the pain.

Snowball, like fat rascal says, there could be a lot of pain (sorry, probably not what you want to hear, but a possibility for this type of op). If you feel bad an hour or so afterwards, please don't go in - your health's more important than your sick record, and you wouldn't be able to do a good job anyway if you are still unwell. Good luck, x.

A local anaesthetic only numbs the area concerned (the area 'local' to the problem), and will be awake during the operation. I can't see any reason why you should feel tired afterwards.

A general anaesthetic is the one that knocks you out completely and it could make you tired afterwards

Did you mean a general anaesthetic snowball76? I have had both local & generals and the locals were fine ~ no tiredness and back to work pronto :o)

The general knocked me for six for at least a day!

Take care & best wishes xx

I presume you did mean general anaesthetic snowball26, in which case you will feel tired for quite a whipe and might well feel groggy for a few days. You will suffer some discomfort. Work is out of the question for a couple of days.

Even if you meant general anaesthetic (which as others has said) won't put you out, you may still feel groggy and tired because of the nature of the op. (and stress), and it would be very unadvisable to go to work.

Surely the japanese allow some time off after an operation, snowball. It sounds horrendous!
Snowball, s*d the company and (sorry) s*d Japan. You need at least a day, probably two. Painful or not, it's a big thing. Your hormones will be all over the place in the next few days and you need time to recover emotionally as well as physically.

The chances are you will be very sleepy. You'll certainly need to rest. Go home, let someone look after you for a day or two, and give yourself time to get over it, or you may suffer further down the line.
one of my friends had the same op.. she had very bad cramping and bleeding afterwards.....i know it must be hard with the work ethic out there... but i think you need that day off at least...

hope you get thro it ok snowball
