julie you look fantastic i much prefer it like it is now xx
Its more than likely because it was put onto bleach. It is so porous. I suggest you go back and see what they can do for you. It will fade slightly but it might take a bit of time.

hi thanks julie, all she could offer me was more red added but that wont change how dark it is will it? the funny thing is i was going to colour it myself but thought it best to let the hairdresser do it incase i sent it a funny colour! how ironic, does anyone know how i can fade it quickly? i rang a few hairdressers today and they both said they wouldnt be able to lift the black out because i will go orange and my hair will snap, so looks like im stuck with it.

Hate to tell you, but they're right. You can't lift black because its the darkest colour. The only way to do it would be to bleach it again and that is the last thing your hair needs. Hopefully just washing should fade it eventually but don't expect much. I am sorry, your hairdresser obviously didn't know what she was doing!
I would complain to your hairdresser and, at the very least, get your money back. She didn't fulfil her contract to change your hair colour to what you wanted. If she had doubts that it wouldn't be possible, then she should have discussed it with you.

you could get some highlights put through in a few different shades of brown and blonde to lighten it up a bit.

Julie I had the exact same thing happen to me in Feb- I went to the hairdresser with bleach blonde hair- asked for it to be toned down a bit to a light brown and I had practically black hair at the end of it. And it was almost a khaki colour really awful. I was so traumatised that I went to another hairdressers to have it "mildly stripped" Bad idea
I ended up with a mohican up the centre of my head and short broken bits all over. Nightmare had to get it all cut up to my shoulder. Its blonde again but it went orange when it was stripped and I had to get no peroxide loreal bleach stuff put on it afterwards. My advice is learn from my mistake- dont strip it and just leave it. It will lighten a good bit in about 4-6 weeks and then you can get blonde highlights put through the top to sort it and soften it a bit. Im so sorry I know exactly how you feel its really upsetting when someone messes around with your image. Im sure you are still lovely with dark hair :O)

hi thanks all, so sorry spk about your hair disaster too its a complete nightmare isnt it. i spoke to the hairdresser again and all she could offer me was a red colour to brighten it up, to be honest i wouldnt trust her again, she did say it would fade but im not so sure, she argued with me that it wasnt black it was brown but it must but one shade from black then because its incredibly dark, ive also spoken to a few hairdressers and they say i cant have highlights to break the block colour up because the colours will come through wishy washy and i`ll be even more upset, her advice to me is to wash my hair a lot to fade it best i can, i really wish i had stayed blonde now, this has really knocked my confidence, i look so awful, thanks all, julie xxx

Poor Julie god its awful- the shampoo I used to get it to fade quicker is loreal auto repair. Its quite expensive and you cant get it from boots or that it needs to be from a hairdressers but that made mine fade quite quickly. You need the shampoo and the conditioner. Honestly though love as bad as you feel about it dont strip it. I wish I had left mine at dark because it damaged my hair so badly. Mine was black too and she said it was brown they must be bluidy colourblind !

thanks spk for the help, im going to try and get my hands on this stuff you suggest, so far ive tried washing up liquid, head and shoulders and vosene, its not even helping apart from making my hair dry and snap. how long ago since your hair disaster spk? is this hair stuff you recommend actually for hair dye removal, im now desperate to get some! julie xx
My disaster was the beginning of Feb Julie so not that long ago. That loreal auto repair stuff is just a shampoo and conditioner thats designed for damaged hair and it draws the colour out a bit but it still takes ages. I swear I so wish I could fix it for you I know exactly how you feel its really bad. My hair is still a mess to be honest but at least Im blonde again now. I really didnt want you to do it because of what happened with my hair- but if its upsetting you that much (like it was me) you have two choices- you can either get it stripped" colour correction" as the hairdresser calls it - and lose loads of the length and thickness of your hair(how long is your hair?) Or you can keep nice hair but the wrong colour. Dont use the washing up liquid
though its not going to help it- I tried that too and it just dried my hair out. So have a think about whether you would have your hair in bad condition or the wrong colour. I went for the bad condition because I just couldnt bear the colour- it was like a khaki colour because my hair was so blonde before it actually looked ge=rey at the ends- yuk. I have to go home now love its 5pm here in Oz but I will be back on at 12pm ish tonight if you want to ask anything else. I hope this helps x
I cant copy the link for a website that sells it but its on www.dealtime.co.uk and its this one- L’OREAL PROFESSIONNEL SERIE EXPERT ABSOLUT REPAIR SHAMPOO

the mask conditioner as well- Im rubbish at this internet lark !!! At least now you can see what it looks like Im sure hairdressers local to where you are will sell it. Ok now I best go home or will miss my tram byeee good luck !

hello again, well i just washed yet again and noticed that the underneath of my hair has gone a lovley reddy brown because my natural colour was still there, the rest is still jet black with the odd patch of the reddy brown, the fringe and sides where i was the most blonde has still stayed this vile colour and im continuing with harsh shampoo and then heavy conditioning masks straight after. my hair is way past shoulder length which makes me look even more harsh and witchy! ive been up since 4am crying i can hardly look at myself in the mirror i hate it so much but im stuck with it but am banking on it fading some time soon, i wish id stayed blonde now my hair is dry and wrecked, thanks spk you have been a star, thank you! julie xx
you will see a big difference Julie in the next 4 weeks roughly it will fade up even more just keep doing that. I take b vitamin tablets now to try and get my hair healthy again and sea kelp works too. I was like you I couldnt look in the mirror I was so traumatised. I hope it keeps fading fast for you take care and try not to let it get you down Im sure its not as bad as it is in your eyes. You will be lovely blonde again before you know it. I would treat myself to some new make up to match your new hair that might cheer you up and give you a nice new look! Reinvent yourself with it for a little while !! Take care x

hiya, thanks for the calming words spk, im trying to stay positive and hoping this damn colour will fade as the weeks go on, bought loads of head and shoulders and conditioning masks yesterday to fade and try and put back some moisture, how are you spk? hows your hair doing? julie xx
mines getting better but slowly- its still kinda short on the top where it all broke off but its getting better and hopefully it will grow soon. It doesnt break off anymore thankfully so its just getting all my little mohicans to grow now ! Im backpacking at the moment and have another 6 months left so hopefully my hair is a good bit longer by the time I go home. The sunshine helps it grow quicker too ! I leave hairmasks on all night about once a week it makes your hair lovely and soft in the morning when you wash it out you might find that helps a bit too !
