pain in thigh, rash [comes & go's]

Hi, my son has been complaining of a pain in his thigh on and off, last evening a red rash [more of a mark than a rash really] appeared, dissapeared this am but now re appeared, he had ringworm a month or so ago on his arm which has been treated and was typical round shape, this mark on his leg is more oblong, any ideas please? i am concerned as he has cystic fibrosis. thanks.
