I am constantly eating toilet tissue I find the dry taste nice. This habit stems from the fact that I used to eat clean clothes once out of dryer. umm it tastes so nice. I am really trying to stop now because at 22 it looks so silly any tips on how to quit.

Thanks

I am really serious!!

When I was a baby i used to suck on my flannel in the bath. Then I used to sit in launderettes all ay just to get the smell of the detergent. I still eat clothes only when I cannot get my hands on them will I eat tissue. Which is quite often now.

Please serious answers only :-)

Buy scented bum roll. I'll bet you don't like the taste of that...

That is true I dont like scented tissue. I only go for Andrex (White colour) what do you think it is doing to my body. I heard that models eat tissue so that they dont put on any weight any one else heard of this?

mls130, sorry about the moth thing, I couldnt help myself.

You should see a doctor as this may tie in with your flannel thus meaning it to be a comfort thing. Not sure what is in toilet paper, but there may be something in it that may harm your stomach or something. Yes I ahve heard about models eating bog roll.

mls130, I also think that maybe spaced is trying to help you. Perhaps you should see a doctor It is a strange question !

Self controle my dear. Just simply stop. Its just like sucking your thumb. Im 24 and I only stopped sucking my thumb completely when I was like 13-14yrs old.( I dont know how in the world i have straight teeth). But it was really hard for me to stop, but I needed to cause' obviously i was TOO OLD to be sucking my thumb.

When is comes to what thats doing to your digestive track.. Well its simple! Your hurting yourself. Tissue paper, cloths are not made to eaten. So just dont do it. And if you honestly can't stop, then go to a doctor and she can refer you to a psychologist that could help you further. Get this taken care of now, you don't want to have ulcers or serious problems down the road....decades of eating clothing and tissue could really be harmful. Good luck.

I can't stop chewing my nails (14) and my fingers are all messed up. It's really disgusting, any help for me (without self control)?
spacechimp - you could try that horrible tasting nail varnish which is specially made for people who want to stop biting their nails. But you basically have to say to yourself one day that you're never going to do it again. Look at how nice other peoples nails look, let yours grow a bit then trim them once a week to keep them at a nice length. When you feel like biting them distract yourself with something else (tv, food, etc.)
I would certainly consider seeing your doctor. I know that it might be a bit embarassing, but although in the short term, this sort of thing probably doesnt do you too much harm. Also, this may sound a bit weird but you never know, you may be deficient in some sort of mineral or nutrient. I'm no doctor, but I've heard that sometimes, people will crave or want a particular thing to eat (whether it's food or not) if you body is missing out on it. If your doctor rules out physical causes, he/she may want to refer you to a psychologist. If you choose not to seek medical help, it's tissue cold-turkey and willpower that you're going to need.
I tend to distract myself by chewing my toothbrush, but I can't take it to school.
Tissue shouldn't be dangerous since it is just fibre and air. No problem eating it if you crave it ( although I suggest you talk to a doctor about that for verification, truthfully I don't think he knows the nutritional values of tissue anyhow ). Many pregnant ladies have such cravings which include porcelin ( plates ) and sand, and they are eating for two! Haven't heard anything bad to come out of a pregnant ladies' weird cravings, doubt anything bad will happen to you.

mls130, how can anyone NOT mock you. I feel for you because of your problem, but you must admit that it is slightly....psychotic!

My name is spaced becasue its one of my favourite comedies.
