natty23 I don't know if this http://www.soundfoundations.co.uk/pages/tribute.asp

is any help at all. I'm going on a Terry Gilligan course for language delay next month so I don't know too much about it yet. The kids I work with are key stage 4 so are much older.

Any nursery/pre school should be able to tell if the child is not communicating as he/she should. They are usually very thorough with all aspects and should be utterly supportive and put the concerned parent in the right direction . Some of the first checks will probably be ear problems, sometimes as simple as grommets. Good luck with your search.
