I’m with 3Ts on this one. When the inappropriate becomes the norm, it’s a slippery slope.

C'est la vie!
how old is your grandson? Perhaps he'd better suit Cbeebies?

What a ridiculous answer bednobs so lesbians snogging is ok for kids programs is it? Right oh!
How do you know they were lesbians? Why do you call it '
"snogging"? Kids kiss each other sometimes without the need for adults pouncing on them like the Taliban or Christian Right. Let them have their childhood.
isn't it? Why not?
Are you against boy/girl kissing? Has your grandson never seen anyone kiss before or something?
How old is he? was he horrified too, or just you?
It's not healthy to loathe everyone who doesn't resemble you.
The Next Step is aimed at a teenage audience. In much the same way as Grange Hill included storylines about racism, drug addiction, teenage pregnancy, mental health and sexual assault forty years ago, The Next Step seeks to address issues that can affect young people, such as homophobia and misunderstandings about sexual identity issues.

I can see no reason why a programme aimed at teenagers shouldn't show a heterosexual couple kissing and therefore absolutely no reason at all why it can't feature gay couples kissing.
The issue is that the kissing was shown on a children's station not that two lesbians were kissing
That particular Canadian series is aimed at "teens".CBBC is aimed for 6-12 year olds

bednobs: "isn't it? Why not?" - It's a kids program!
"Are you against boy/girl kissing?" - Yes, on a kids show.
"Has your grandson never seen anyone kiss before or something?"- Of course he has.
"How old is he? was he horrified too, or just you? " - he is within the range recommended by CBBC (6-12) He did not say anything I was horrified.

18:57 so it should not be on CBBC then? Now we are getting somewhere.
well, if kissing is a step too far for tora, and he has to shield his grandson from seeing people kissing, as i said Cbeebies might be more appropriate?
Although, apparently i'm the ridiculous one (sniggers)
calmck; Women kiss each other all the time. Are children not allowed to see such behaviour? I'd be interested to know the age of TTT's grandson.
Get the Only Fools box set out Tora, show the wee man the joys of cash in hand and how tax is for mugs.
I don't watch CBBC but young kids kiss each other wherever - surely we've all seen this? Don't see why they would think anything of seeing kissing on TV.

chico: "I can see no reason why a programme aimed at teenagers shouldn't show a heterosexual couple kissing and therefore absolutely no reason at all why it can't feature gay couples kissing. " - yes but why is it on CBBC which claim their programs are suitable for 6012 year olds? More trobiscite secret sexualisation of our kids.
hang on a minute, said grandson didnt bat an eyelid?
a man in his 60s is completely flummoxed that teens kiss?
This is probably just a symptom of getting older TTT; music all sounds crap now as well!

6-12!

doug: "Get the Only Fools box set out Tora, show the wee man the joys of cash in hand and how tax is for mugs." - that's actually a useful parallel. It's ok to have lesbians snogging in kids shows but you can't have a harmless indian joke in a show for adults!
Dotty, innit.
