Colonic Irrigation & Psyllium Husks

I've just booked an appointment to have a colonic irrigation treatment and I was told by the clinic to take psyllium husks for five days prior to the appointment. Is this REALLY necessary or does it make the whole process a lot smoother? (sorry, no pun intended...)!

Thanks

I have taken these husks and they really do clear you out so its probably a good thing.
I am a huge fan of collonic irrigation. Have had it done numerous times. My therapist never told me to take anything before though, I guess it depends how blocked up you feel. Usually on your first visit they won't be able to get all the way round the bowel so taking the psyllium husks probably helps the process. Good luck and don't worry. You'll feel much better afterwards.
I would really like to have the irrigation done - is it epensive?
sorry - expensive?

I'm sure you've read all the info and know of the problems, but if you don't, do take a look at the following.

I read it and still haven't unclenched my buttocks!!
That was a good link I'd thought of having it done myself but i wouldnt now, I know someone who gets this done on a regular basis and when I asked about it she told me to start taking the husks because I would be told to take them so I did and I found I was much better for taking them and felt I didnt need the colonic in the end.

There is nothing bad in psyllium husks..it's all natural and does make your insides a bit more willing, but I went for a course if colonic irrigation a few years ago and did not need to take these before hand. I was advised to use them after my first time but it wasn't a problem if I didn't.
