Today.
I don't either. They are only in certain places today. I think 23rd may for the MEP ones. I have a card for that.

Today for local elections, 23rd for European elections.
Today but only for certain areas.
You don't need a polling card to vote - just turn up and give your name and address. In fact, you could give anyone's name and address, but that's for another thread.....

not every council is up for elections. I've had a card saying I'll get another card nearer the MEP elections.
Hadn't seen that, danny, but high time it was brought in everywhere (and cut down on postal voting, which is wide open to fraud). As I said, you can just give ANY name and address at the polling station. You could turn up to find you had 'already voted'.
Photo ID is required in NI
We had our Euro election cards yesterday.
Gov.uk seems to have decided that nobody should vote. Anybody turning up on 3 May in my area will find the polling stations already closed.
Areas voting on 3rd may
JF85, are you sure elections are supposed to be taking place in your area today?

luv it ryzen
"Supposed to be", yes. Perhaps it is the seemingly deliberate attempt to disenfranchise some voters, but my area attracted fewer candidates than there are places.

Many already feel disengaged or unengaged. Attempts to increase participation will not work while governments mess at the edges and do not take courageous decisions. First past the post does not work. An attempt was made to change it but got a poor turnout as the major parties had everything to lose. Even as a remainer Europhile, I see that proportional representation would give the Brexit parties a stronger mandate which would reflect their popular standing. Not good for the country, maybe, but better for democracy.
JF85, I don't understand that. How can a polling station where elections are due to take place be closed? That can't be lawful surely.
I thought JF85 was playing on the fact that the 3rd was mentioned when today is the 2nd.

Simple postcode check for anyone unsure.
