Night Cramps

Recently been getting excruciating cramps in my legs right up to my groin. I stand on a cold surface for the leg cramps any other remedies?

wear socks - works for me
Himalayan pink salt...I find some dissolved on the tongue works wonders. Cramps are often due to an electrolyte imbalance, and sea salt has the necessary minerals to counteract this.
Exercises, as Chris says, making sure you're properly hydrated, avoiding sitting still for too long and not moving about much generally for long periods. I find Magnesium supplements seem to have helped a bit.

I also find trying to relax the muscles can help, rather than tensing everything up trying to fight it. I know that probably sounds weird, but I read about it once and have tried it quite a few times and it has helped me. Then once it's settled enough, gently stretching.
A plus for magnesium. It's one of the electrolytes I mentioned earlier. I'll sometimes apply magnesium oil to the area that's cramping.
calmagzinc tablets or liquid works for me
I started getting bad night cramp as a reaction to various medications, and luckily when they were changed, the cramps stopped - but when I had them I did find that standing on a cold floor and spraying with a Freeze spray (as opposed to a heat spray) seemed to help.
