It's The Little Things

Not having a great week so far. The pheasant chick we rescued from certain death died in my hand last night. I sobbed like a big girl.

But an hour ago I had the pleasure of watching a baby Woodpecker being fed by its parent. I am grinning from ear to ear.

What has made you smile (or grin like an idiot) today?

Getting into a new outfit that is not bought from a plus size retailer and wearing hold up stockings for the first time ever!

Well done you, Islay!! Bet you feel nice and sexy too.

I cant wear holdups, I'm allergic to something in the top so its good old fashioned stockings for me.

For me, having some energy after work to wander around the shops, find some nice drinking glasses .. come home and do some baking, listen to some music and enjoy the things I liked doing instead of feeling so tired.

It is! Since we moved here, we have been in complete awe of the things that we see every day. Just sitting in the garden or looking out of the kitchen window. It is amazing.

One night we stayed up ALL night listening to and watching owls and the deer and then listened to the dawn chorus which really was something else.

I've yet to unpack my suitcase because the cat has claimed it. Small things...it's cute. He has used it as his bed since we got back, I think he missed us. :-)

1. Watching a female blackbird giving a potential mate a right run-around in my back garden. He looks so frustrated (her reluctance may be because it would be a second brood I think).

2. Watching a BBC Springwatch video clip of Mandarin Duck chicks leaping from their nest up a tree down to the ground.
