For some time I have been feeling fatigued/lethargic a lot of the time. Ive never slept very well but this feels more than just some sleep deprivation. I had to attend a meeting this afternoon and it took all I had to prevent me from closing my eyes and going sleep. Also feel short of breath and occasionally nauseous (on the bus home I nearly had to get off because I felt disorientated and sick) Have checked my blood pressure and that seems to be ok.
I haven't drank for some time, I'm not currently smoking and I'm eating a diet high in veg, fruit and salads. I'm drinking loads of water and avoiding caffeine.
I'm doing all the right things and feel like cr @p.
Any ideas what to do?
Thanks.
Sorry, finding it hard to keep up with everyone replies.
MM & Tills, yes, Ill try to get in to see GP ASAP.
Garaman, I think that these things I'm feeling are more physical than mental,
Depression can make you horribly lethargic, I know. The sudden change of diet could have put your body into 'defence' (best I can describe it. I echo all the other pleas to go and see a doctor. If you can't get an appointment fairly soon, say a week, then go to a walk-in centre.
What was the outcome of that other problem you had ; where you were finding it difficult to get an appointment with your GP ?
Might that have anything to do with your current problem ?
I understand what people are saying about fatigue and depression. Ive had (suicidal) depression on and off for years, but this lethargy is definetly different from that. Mentally, Ive been in a fairly good place for the past few months, but my body is in a different place. I'm permanently knackered.
Naomi, I cycle and walk. Not a gym bunny by any means but I'm not idle.
Bazile, not sure which post you are referring too, had loads of times when its been a lottery whether you can actually get to see a doctor or not....
Sorry NoM, I was a bit tongue in cheek with my reply. Yes, I suppose I could be. Guess a bag of spinach a week just doesn't cut it ;-)
(I'm not Popeye after all)
Tills, I smoke on and off. Sometimes buy a pack of (knocked off) fags when feeling a bit stressed. Havnt had a cig for a few weeks now, currently chewing on nicotine gums.
