I would really appreciate some opinions.

What do women prefer as methods of contraception other than the pill (combined or mini).

Do those who use condoms (both from male and female perspective) find that they hinder the pleasure at all?

I was thinking more that it physically affects the way sex feels?

I had a iud/coil inserted last year and its the best thing I have ever done!! Can't reccomend it highly enough. It was a little uncomfotable for a few days after I had it put in but now its great. My partner and I dont like condoms as we do find that it reduces the sensation (for both me and him!)

I hate condoms, my boyfriend feels safer wearing them although I'm on the pill. if you'll excuse the detail, no matter how much I'm turned on, or how much lubricant we use, I always feel like the condom is dragging, if you get me. It's just not comfy but I suppose it's a nessesary evil in some circumstances.

Without condoms I find sex is just more intimate and powerful. I always have a better time without them, so does he but for some reason he insists. *sigh*

Having said that I don't really like teh Pill either, I had to go through about 5 brands before I found one that suited me and some of my side effects weren't very nice.

I currently use the injection; a three monthly visit to the local family planning clinic or doctor for the jab (small needle in the top of your bottom/lbottom of the back).

Works fine and as a fantastic bonus, my periods stopped after a couple of months of being on it (although I'm told this doesn't happen in all cases - it depends on the person).

It did take a little bit of getting used to as previously I'd been using the pill which meant that when my periods stopped altogether, I used to get panicy about beng pregnant and went through about 30 pregnancy tests (the woman in my local chemist must have thought I was a huge floozy!) until I got used to things!

I did post a thread about alternatives not too long ago as I have put on a bit of weight since going on it (as with all hormonal methods) and wondered if there was anything else but I wouldn't give up not having a period for love nor money!!
I might add I've been in a long term relationship for yonks and yonks as obviously these contraceptive methods provide no protection from STDs, which is important if you're not familiar with your partner's history.
