Does anyone know a treatment system for cancer secondaries (on spinal column and lymphatic system) beginning with T? My consultant used a word, and said it's not chemotherapy; also injectible, no hair loss, just makes patient feel a bit dodgy.

Thanks, Anne - you are very kind.
sounds as tho you are eligible for a blue badge for parking

and also PIP - new DLA - for you it would be the first two pages ( of 50)

Radiotherapy makes you pretty tired
sorry hadnt read page 2 of this until just now

Question Author
I'll follow that up tomorrow. I'm away to my bed!
You're doing well Fred. Rest easy over the weekend. x
my thoughts and prayers are with you, much love. xxx
sorry looked it up
30 gy in divided doses over 2 weeks seems to be standard

It sounds as tho you must have had an MDT ( multi disciplinary team ) discussion - anyway good luck with plan A

Yes, Pierre. The consultant urologist, consultant oncologist and radiographer had a conflab to decide on the course of treatment. You're right about feeling tired. I woke at 3 am and again at 6 am. Swallowed a couple of Iboprufen at 3 am. By 8 am I was asleep again till 9.45 am. Bliss!
thistles - thank you.
Good morning Fred, nice to see you using the pain killers as advised.
Hi Fred, How are you feeling? Is it another two sessions this week?x
Hi Fred is this week 2?
anyway I imagine they will wait a bit to see the effect

if you are getting targeted therapy for relief of symptoms
then it could show an effect as early as Day 4 or 5.

Question Author
4th out of 5 radiotherapy sessions today. Last one tomorrow, Wed., then an assessment of situation. Radiotherapist is to speak to consultant oncologist re pain control and the lack of sleep it's causing. I am taking lactulose for the bowels! Very tired, and walking is hard work as one of the secondaries is affecting the radial nerve controlling the right leg - that's what the radiotherapy is targeting. I have acquired a folding walking stick! I now need a date for the op. to remove the main tumour - and, I suspect, the left kidney. Happy days!! Thanks all for you good wishes.
Hi Fred, I hope you're given stronger pain medication soon and that all goes well xx
Best wishes from me Frugal.x
Hope they get that pain under control and rid of the main culprit too, use that stick wisely now.

Take care.
Any help offered Fred take it! Hope pain can be brought under control very soon. At least after tomorrow you can take a breather. Keep that send of humour! x
Best wishes, Fred. xx

Thanks, scorpiojo, patsy, mamya, jennyjoan and Tilly. When I said to the consultant that I had had my three score years and ten - plus a bonus - he said he would give me a few more years yet!
that's great to hear Frugal.
I'm sure he will Fred. They seem a good team.
