According to the Guardian, it seems as if the Uk goes to the top of their list when it comes to picking a Muslim for it's capital's mayor.

You will have to figure that one out for yourself, I have spent enough time explaining the obvious to you on the previous post.
London has a Labour Mayor, who also happens to be a Muslim.

Anybody ask what religion Boris was ?
And these people speak on behalf of the rest of Europe? I don't think so.
Which previous post?

There you go again, once again you will have to also work that one out for yourself.

Must be very hard work for you, trying to keep up.
As there are fewer Muslims than non-Muslims in London, why did a non-Muslim not win?
AOG....you have that wrong....the present Mayor is not a Tory, and that is what is important.

Londoners had the opportunity to elect a white Tory but failed to do so by quite a large margin, so stop moaning about it. The Tories will get another go in 5 years time.
Keep going Corby....rational will win in the end !
"rational will win in the end"
I fear not. The News section on here is more like Friday night in a down-market pub than a rational forum.

Have a think about why that makes no sense at all, mikey.
that wave almost reeks of a "HH" salute.......
Talbot...it makes prefect sense to me ....there just wasn't enough Londoners that wanted a Tory to win.

Labour won, the Tories lost....get over it !
I like the closing sentence:

"And of course it shows what a fantastic place to live London can be, sometimes.”

sometimes

The close scrutiny of Khan's words and deeds will reflect on how fantastic life for Londoners is....
agchristie......"The close scrutiny of Khan's words and deeds will reflect on how fantastic life for Londoners is...."

How true...handsome is as handsome does as far as I am concerned. The problem with a lot of people on here is that because Khan is Muslim, not white and Labour to boot, he is being judged before he been in the job 5 mins.
I fail to see what the issue is, and the numerous posts re the mayoral vote. I think, the person with the most votes wins. Maybe you should be asking why the white Tory didn't win?
anneasquith....I asked that question many times, and few could give a straight answer, other than the usual "it was all those Muslims Guv" sort of reply.

Its all sour grapes on the part of our more xenophobic regulars.
