On average, how long does it take from eating something that disagrees with you to having diarrhoea?   And why is it that sometimes the result is sickness instead?

Thanks

it varies from person to person, normally between 3-6 hrs, sickness occurs when your stomach rejects, or refuses to digest or has a nasty bug and up it comes. Diarrhoea is caused either by a bug either in the stomach or the bowel, or by too much rich or fibrous food. Thats pretty much all I know i`m sure there are other causes as well
Yep, as Stevie says, if you eat something dodgy, it may get chucked out as soon as it reaches your stomach. Or it may take a while longer, by which time it is in your bowel and comes out the other end. I find if I have eaten something which is off in the evening, I usually get sick in the early hours or the morning.
