...A big, daft, fat, chocolate labrador ran into me today whilst it was charging around playing with Tilly. I stayed upright, just, but I'm sure my legs went backwards by some degree. It really hurt and I limped home but was ok. Now, My left leg is very painful just below my knee, on the left side of my shin.

Will it wear off or may there be some damage?

RICE Tilly, rest, an icepack, compress gently if there is swelling and elevate your knee but with a rolled towel under the knee so its not completely straight...and a Sqad special wouldn't hurt or the pain relief of your choice. If its not improving, not better but improving, by monday, then to the doc.

Couldn't have been yours then, Yont. This one was really porky. My leg is still painful. I may have to give up the Badminton.
Give up badminton, Yilly !, only until your leg is better I hope.
Tilly, is it any better? are you resting it?
Question Author
I am joking about the Badminton.

Woof, I am trying to rest it. I can't kneel down and if I twist it, it really hurts. The ibuprofen are helping I think. It's not swollen, or bruised.
oh argh, don't try to knee down or twist it, GET OFF YOUR FEET AND REST IT
Have you informed sqad ?.

it would not harm you to go and see your GP, Tilly - - just for your peace of mind

I am sitting on the settee with my legs up. I am now resting, woof.

I had to sit on my bottom when I was gardening today. Felt like a right numpty.
LOL, wrong thread.
My labrador ran into me in exactly the same way on the beach. I was in tears it was so painful. But yes, keep it elevated, ice pack on for 10 mins, off for 10 mins, Ibuprofen etc Go easy on it and keep it moving gently without weight bearing. See Doc if it still hurts in a few days.
Question Author
What has that big, daft, dog done to me?
Probably stretched a muscle or tendon, Yilly.
Been watching the thread......no big deal.
Nothing to do with ligaments, almost certainly muscular.
Will take about a week to settle.....no need to see your GP.
Question Author
I'll give it a week then. Thank you.

Thanks to all of you for your answers.

Scarlett, you know how much it hurts then. I didn't cry but only because the owner was so apologetic and concerned.

Tilly, gardening does not =rest!!!
Question Author
Even on your bum gardening? I didn't do any digging. Just weeding.....and a lit of planting...and a bit of pruning.
Oh, Tilly been away all day, I hope it eases soon xx
Question Author
