Two options that I know of:-

Either rub ice cube over it till its brittle and pick off or put trousers in freezer till once again brittle. Actually thats just one option just a variation of it!

Hope it helps :-)

doesnt putting them in the freezer supposed to help remove gum?? so it goes hard then you can just peel it off
ahh boo you sneaked in there quickly lol

but remember to remove trousers from said small person before stuffing them in the freezer......

pmsl @ burnhal
hahaha Burnhal- actually that could be the small person in question's punishment for doing it in the first place!
rub some ice onto it.

Thanks everyone..I had a rumage in the cupboard and found a can of something called de-sol-vit. Picked off the excess gum (yuck) then sprayed this stuff on a cloth and rubbed it over the remaining gum, and hey presto its gone. Must remember I have this stuff for future messes.  Quite liked the idea of putting him in the freezer would have given me peace for a while....only joking dear son as he reads this over my shoulder.
lol angel and angels son be warned for the future
It is a little known fact that WD40 removes chewing gum very very easily.

Then of course, you need to get rid of the WD40, although soap & hot water will probablt help there.

Next time it happens at school, tell him to ask the Science Technicians (very nicely) for some cyclohexane.

They won't let him take it away with him, (it's a little bit inflammable), but with a bit of cotton wool / cloth dabbed in that stuff, it will take the gum clean off. Just remind him not to smoke straight afterwards.

its easy you got to put melted chocolate on the gum wait for it to go solid and pull it off the gum comes off with the chocolate
Try putting them in the freezer over night, when you take them out it will just scratch off. Your son may not be able to wear them tomorrow but at least yuo'll get it off.
