A female mate of mine swears blind that the Daily Mail hates women.

I can't comment, because I don't delve into that part of the Internet, unless I absolutely have to...

Anyway, we've been discussing DM's alleged hatred of women over the past couple of months (actually, not only the DM, the are other 'offenders') and today she sent me this link:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2373924/Jennifer-Aniston-arrives-set-movie-enjoying-time-fiance-Justin-Theroux.html

I would like to ask in all seriousness...if you saw this woman down the street, would you say, 'bloated'?

There is an argument to suggest that compared to how she looked in 'Friends' she does indeed appear to slightly (very, very slightly) bigger in the face...but 'bloated'?

I kind of think that if I were a woman in my mid forties, I would be very happy indeed looking like this.

So..does the Mail hate women?

And if so,,,why???

they don't hate women, not that i can see, some who write for the paper could do with kicking into touch, and they are usually the villains, like that foolish woman samantha brick, and the other one katy hopkins, it's what they say that gets up peoples noses.
Make up does wonderful things. Makes our eyes look bigger, our cheek bones look higher...etc.

She looks like herself without all the make-up...

Papers and magazines point these things out so some women who care enough can feel a bit better about themselves.
it's been hot weather everywhere not just here. but she does look quite fine and healthy and so not sure what they are looking at
I wish I looked that good!
I'm almost certain that most of the people behind these articles are bitchy women.
Doesn't look bloated to me, pretty good nick in fact.
I don't think it hates women particularly. It just hates everybody. It's got a sociopathic personality disorder. It doesn't give a Sugar about anything but selling papers and indulging in it's own little vendettas against people and/or institutions it doesn't like.

Jennifer Aniston isn't one of those by the way. She's just someone it doesn't give a Sugar about other than as a means of filling some space in the paper or on the website.
she's looking good to me. "Bloated"?

The Mail wants women to hate women. It has a huge female readership (go figure) and constantly denigrates famous and successful women, often on grounds as flimsy as this one. They are catering to their readers' sense of entitlement: "See, I'm just as great as she is! She's bloated and I'm not! So I should be on Big Brother."
ludwig, do you really think that, i never see that at all.
I think jno has nailed it.
Yes. She looks bloated- for her. But still pretty good!
I think the same of most tabloid papers em. I wouldn't single out the Mail unfairly.
The first photograph is the only one she looks noticeably heavier in and that's the angle. If you photograph anyone from below they have a double chin, you could make Kate Moss look like Jo Brand from that angle. The Daily Mail is a silly vindictive newspaper that employs even siller vindictive middle aged women who love to pour hate and scorn on anyone younger, happier, more fulfilled or nicer than them, which is practically everyone. Why? Because being bitchy does one of two things, either it appeals to equally unhappy bitchy people or it enrages and shocks those who are not, and either way it sells newspaper. Yukk.
its the face, not so much the rest of her, she looks pretty good
men can be far worse than women in the bitchy stakes
She looks fantastic-as always. They've just chosen a photo-the first-where there is no shadow under her jaw...so her facial structure looks undefined. The DM does seem to like to have a go at stars for looking 'less than perfect'..When they just look normal.
I think, sp, the argument runs that because the Wail has zillions of women readers, therefore it can't possibly ever be a misogynist rag. Or, presumably, a practiced purveyor of more generally crap journalism that just lazily flogs papers

Looks like the angle the photo is taken is making her cheek look fuller.

Ever since Friends, I've always admired her and thought her a very attractive woman. She has gorgeous hair as well. In fact, I'm quite jealous!
my, those are impressively barmy, sloopy
