You know my plantar fasciitis is causing me real pain at the moment. Saw consultant last week and I have to go back tomorrow as she says I have to have the injection in each heel. ( She couldnt believe I hadnt been offered it before). Anyway, she said to bring somebody so I could squeeze their hand it it will be very painful. Great! Soooo, it is really going to be that bad??

Injections like that hurt like a b*****.........BUT for a very short time indeed. And the relief is generally well worth it.

I had one in my spine and came away firmly convinced that I'd prefer to give birth again rather than have another injection. LoL

But the relief from the pain I was in made me decide, on reflection, that if it was offered, again, I'd have sooner have the injection.

Be brave, and look forwards to being pain-free. :o)
*I'd have sooner had, even

Oooh, has this gone into the wrong section??
JTH - I feel even worse now after reading that! lol

They shouldn't have told you that. That was a bit cruel!!!

Oh christ, am cacking myself now!!! And I have nobody to go with me : (
Lol...I thought this thread was going to be about spiders :-)

Ask Ed to move it...

I had injections between my toes. I screamed and had to be held down for the second one. I don't even know what they were for!

ummmm - that has really helped. Not.;)
I didn't know whether I was going to pass out or throw up.......in the end I did neither.
The doctor was asking me questions, and the nurse whose had I was crushing had to interpret my head nodding, shaking and grimacing to answer him as I was beyond speech!

BUT only for a very short time.....honestly. :o)
An injection in the heel sounds pretty unpleasant. But it'll only be a few seconds out of your whole life, and if it helps take the pain away, then it'll be well worth it. And if you go on your own, then at least you won't feel so embarrassed afterwards if you scream and swear. I hope it goes ok. x

I think I may have a little cry right now............(
Sorry love but it will only hurt like flump for a few seconds
Look at it this way.......every day you are in a considerable amount of pain from your feet......day after day after day after day.....

In having the injection you'll be in an intense amount of pain for 'moments'....and then it stops and hopefully will take your foot pain away with it. 10/15 seconds of agony has got to be worth it? :o)
Moved :)
I would offer to go with you, but I need to be able to use my hand afterwards!
Remember to take your Ibuprofen tablets ~ and good luck.

:)
Oh poor you , I have never had it but it sounds painful. Are you sure you can't rustle up a friend from somewhere to lean on ? Hope it goes ok smow xxx
Sometimes honesty is the last thing one needs.

Can you not request a local anaesthetic to be applied first ? Maybe that wouldn't be so bad.
