Well, after a week of intensive tests at our hospital the verdict with my Mum was what I thought. Metastic breast cancer in the bones. With a history of lobular breast cancer, spontaneous fracture and hypercalcemia, it couldn`t have been anything else really so I expected it. I was disappointed to find that it is quite widespread but on a positive side, the CT didn`t find anything in the tissues (as yet). There is talk of a CT PET scan but that might be down the line. She is going to be hit with a change in anti-estrogen drugs and monthly bisphosphonate infusion. I`m hoping that will restore some calcium into the bones and help the fracture to heal.

SJ...thanks for your feedback as I was thinking about her over the weekend.
Not a good card to pull out of the pack and particularly with your work commitments taking you away for brief periods.
Sorry about the results.
