My left leg (outer shin area) gets a feeling as if someone is pouring hot water down it (temperature of a hot bath). It never lasts long and I'm not worried just curious. Now my right leg has started, but its above the outer ankle area so lower down to the left leg.
Has anyone any ideas as to what it could be?
TIA..

Arthitis of spine, neck and lumbar
No new medication but take 7 types.
It happens while sitting, standing, walking and in bed.
Would a list of medication help?
No....medication not now needed thanks as i have got the picture.
It sounds very much as thought it is nerve root pain coming from your degenerative lumbosacral spine.

I am not sure what can be done about it, but it clearly is not affecting your lifestyle and quality of life.
How odd, I used to get this, but it was more like really cold water rather than hot.
It happened on the top of leg, on the inner thigh, and always seemed to happen when I was at the gym. When it first started happening I thought there was water on me (somehow) and would wipe my leg with my hand. Very odd sensation.

I Googled it (think I asked on here as well actually) and it seems it's failry common.

Mine just disappeared in time, but it's really annoying isn't it.

Hi madmen I'm glad you found a good Doctor yesterday I read your update.
I kept thinking I had poured hot water down myself and I to looked at Google first ha ha.
I experience something similar, not very hot water though. When this happens I tend to lose weight. It doesn't happen often.
Thanks arwyn :)
It's really weird isn't it. I sometimes get a really warm sensation in the same place, but it's more like someone's holding a heat pad to the area, unlike the hot/cold running water thing.
I remember someone saying that MS suffers get this quite often - although I'm not suggesting for a minute you have MS! :-)

society it seems quite common, My B.M.I is normal, I don't drink or smoke and I eat healthy, I think I need to get a life ha ha..

Madman a few years ago I had blood tests and nothing showed up so I guess they tested for MS but who knows, I'v only ever met 2 Dostors like the 1 you saw yesterday.
I blame everything on hormones. :)
I just read that MS is quite complicated when it comes to diagnosing.
I'm having my bloods taken on Monday (dreading it!!) just so he can rule out anything else (suspected IBS)..

I actually phoned the surgery this morning and asked if I could permenently change doctors to the one I saw yesterday. She asked "why". I said "well I had more help from him in the 45 minute I was there, than in the past twelve years from my current GP". Anyway, she said no. Lol
Lol just read this on an MS website...

"However, MS is tricky. Because so many other conditions can also cause similar symptoms, a hypochondriac could easily think they have it when they don't."

Best I stop reading then.... :P

Madmen I'm sure you can see any Doctor you want, you don't have to see the one your under. Next time just make an appointment for the good one and see if you get away with it :)
haha. Oh I have every intention of doing that :)
MM, I haven't seen the Doc I am registered with for many years.

I get whoever I am given, but I'm sure if I requested a particular one they would allow it.
Hoppy, I asked to see a female doc a few weeks back, and the receptionist started quizzing me, asking why and what the problem was. She then said if I want to see another doctor then I should book in with my own GP first and ask him to refer me. Refer me? They're only in the next bloody room!

Madmen when I was aged 21 I went to my G.P with a set of symptoms, He lent over, put his hand on my arm and said "Go home and take a look at your life because people imagine pain to seek attention".
Months later I moved to a new area and had to change G.P's, within weeks I was xrayed and told I had Spondylosis.
I'm now 50 and could write a book :)
I also have that. Not hot water tho warm. I thought it was to do with varicose veins. Lol. Is quite disconcerting
Blimey arwyn, that's terrible!
The locum I saw a couple of weeks ago diagnosed with IBS whilst sitting in his chair and looking at his computer screen.
I'm sure I could see Facebook reflected in his specs! lol
