Who on Earth would want to remove a thread because Dotty's posts on it fitted their author's name ? Consider what other dotty answers we get in News and in Religion from other eminent contributors to the site, and which remain !.

sandy although I have been on this site for years now - who are moderators I know they pull threads - but who picked them to do that and also when they pull a posting - are they always correct.

I think I saw an answer from one of the moderators some time ago (probably BOO) who said you just get picked by the ed and told that you are now a moderator. Don't know what the criteria are but I would think one of them would be that you spend quite a lot of your time on Answerbank and in all the various sections, with very wise answers. That's more than one come to think of it.

the Ed can always overrule mods and reinstate a thread if he wants and has time. He also ends suspensions (though I suppose mods can do that themselves).

What happens when one of them leaves because they`ve realised they need to get a life - whoops sorry, I meant spend less time on here? Do they replace them? I can think of at least two who no longer post.

The thread went awry as a result of I'll thought out posts and never got back on track.
It was not going to continue once one of the fatalities was confirmed as a child, nor should it have.
