I agree with the doctors management of your case.......eat the same things that you have always eaten, but a little less.

If you can take exercise...walks, swimming, then do so.

Not the end of the world.

Thanks squad, thats a relief.
have googled Borderline d, and scares the hell out of you.

How much alcohol do you get through?

My father was "diagnosed" as borderline diabetic and he went on the wagon and pretty much never showed a positive test again

Jake, erm ---one glass of pale cream sherry while cooking dinner most nights.
Bet that is full of sugar!!!! accasional choc ice, prefer savoury things.
May I ask if you are overweight pusskins? A cousin of mine was in this position and was told by her GP to lose some weight which she didn't manage to do and now she is on medication.
I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago, I cut out white bread, sugar, cut down on lager,
never did eat sweets or cake so no problem there, get lots of exercise with the dogs and weightlifting, not had slightest problem since, other than I HATE brown bread.
Good Luck!
There is hidden sugar in many foods. You don't have to be stuffing cake and chocolate down your throat to be ingesting too much sugar.

Weigh 11 stone, doc says thats fine. Not over weight.
Must find out whats in certain foods and not much sugar!
Just a thought, and it can't really hurt...have a go at an eating regime like the Dukan diet, that helps you to really cut down on carbohydrates and fat as well as sugar.
Question Author

I have been diabetic for 14 years, had to have medication from start have managed it well with my knowledge having worked in medicine I can recommend you have Brown bread, warburtons and alison good if you look
on bread contents all have some sugar but some a lot, also porridge is excellent as long acting which is same for Apples, the best veg is Leeks which has an effect on controlling blood sugars as does onions. I have a normal diet without a lot of cakes etc do have some good biscuits best thing is to have regular meals . All the best
Question Author
Hiya sorry for delay!
Doctor said to not go on a diet as i am quite slim, but, to take smaller meals etc. Dont have a sweet tooth thank god. So leeks are a good veg/Will buy some when out shopping today. Its made me think twice now what I eat, but is difficult as i havent got much of an appetite like mr puss. Will try and read labels and definately cut down on sugar. Have cut sugar by half that I normally have in porridge. Yuk, hope to get used to it soon.
