Yes is sounds as though they are admitting it. Show the texts to the Police.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service's guidelines (for the police and for their own staff), such injuries constitute 'GBH', not 'ABH':

The wording of the texts could be important here. For example, I could send you a text saying "Sorry you got beaten up; you didn't deserve it". I wouldn't be admitting to anything! Even if someone wrote "Sorry I hit you" they would only be admitting common assault; they could still say that someone else caused your actual injuries.

If you have reported this to the Police for investigation it is important that these texts are preserved as evidence by the Police so you should contact the investigating officer ASAP.
Whatever the wording of the texts.

Welcome to AB with your first post- although i see you have been a member looking in for nearly 2 years.
I agree with the others- show the texts to the police. It's up to the CPS to decide whether to prosecute. All you can do is provide all relevant information and let the police sort it out
The person could just be saying they are sorry that you got hurt , that would not be an admission of guilt. If they said '' I'm sorry I beat you up'' that would be an admission of guilt.
.

oh and sorry to hear that you got assaulted

are they planning any operation - not the Police - the doctors
