Poorly Foot

Hello. I hit my foot on my desk trying to get up just over over 2 months ago now I think.

It has remained painful, on the top of my foot, in a band across it from a bit further down under my big toe across to just before my little toe.

It is still a bit swollen on the top of the foot. No pain on the bottom of it.

It has got a lot more painful in the last couple of days, really painful if I flex my toes up and when walking on it.

I've tried icing it and gently exercising it as recommended by my physio last week - he had a quick look (not what I was there for) when I asked him, confirmed it was still swollen, but neither have helped. He said I could have chipped a bit of bone or damaged the soft tissue or something like that. Had no xrays or anything.

It's making things more difficult with getting around with a stick, is there much I can do to try and heal it quicker (or just not hurt so much)? Painkillers haven't helped much and I'm not allowed anti-inflammatories as on methotrexate.

Thanks all. I was told by a pharmacist I shouldn't take ibuprofen etc... with Methotrexate. I checked with my GP and rhumatology nurse who both said the same so have avoided them. Not sure exactly why but something about it interfering with the methotrexate.

I spoke to my GP earlier about my increased meds (got to get up to 20mg a week of methotrexate and take folic acid 6 days a week and have doubled my omeprazole to help with the side effects). I mentioned my foot and she said to come in tomorrow for someone to have a look and see if they think it needs an xray.

Thanks smow x

Saw a GP early and they are sending me for an xray for a suspected stress fracture. Mentioned Morton's Neuroma but said usually pain on the bottom of the foot too with that.

So we shall see what the xray brings on Monday!
Thanks for the update.
