What age is it sensible to send the Husband to the GP for a regular prostate check up?

Sensible answer............over the age of 40 years.
would there be a need to go if there was no sign of anything wrong?

well I am not fully aware of the symptoms... but think that a slow start to pee maybe isnt a good sign... so thought that if I get regular checks - then maybe so should he...

he does drink a lot of water.. so does go a lot anyway!

Far more common than prostate cancer is benign prostate enlargement. It does slow down the urine stream and it does eventually happen to most men sometime after half a century.

They could consult a doctor and get checked for some occasional problems that happen if the bladder is not fully emptied due to the enlagement. They can order an ultrasound to see how it is going.
