ummmm, probably just a bruise, but could be more!.....greenstick fractures are not uncommon in toddlers.....best to get it checked I think if she's still distressed in the morning!................
For goodness sake don't got to A&E, that's not what it's for - take her to the local minor injuries unit or walk-in centre, or go to the chemist and ask the pharmacist to take a look at it. You'd only use A&E if you suspected a fracture, or if there was bleeding. http://www.nhs.uk/NHS...incentresSummary.aspx

It may be that having a bath has brought the bruise out - it sounds pretty normal to me.
She doesn't even appear to be distressed now!!

They might not be uncommon...but they're certainly not common.

yes shes ahd a thing for feet since she was super tiny, and used to chew our toes if we were not paying attention.
Oh ummmm, just erring on the side of caution!....and if it were my daughter, I would need to know that there wasn't a problem, would you not?.........
boxtops, here in South Wales we do not have walk in centres, we do have NHS Direct, they ask us to go to A&E, so why not go there anyway?.......
No, I wouldn't. I'm not a neurotic Mother and I would only use A&E for it's purpose. ACCIDENTS and EMERGENCIES.

This is neither!
welsh, that may be different then, but we keep being told how many A&E visits are inappropriate, A&E should be the last resort in times of what it says "Accident and Emergency".
sorry ummmm, but it may be an accident, her mother doesn't know how the injury happened!...........

thanks for pointing that out welshie ;) as i said at out laws tomorrow and shes a qualified nurse as well as having 4 boys so she will know in a flash if somethings not right.
A and e should only be for emergency life threatening stuff
hope she's fine firewatch, sure she will be!.......let us know how she is.........
"yes shes ahd a thing for feet since she was super tiny, and used to chew our toes if we were not paying attention." what....like when she's in the garden?

Sorry, that's cheeky of me, here's hoping your wee titch is all better tomorrow, will leave you to it :)

maybe wasnt watching her for like 30s whilst i negotiated the airer in doors, went and fetch the stew pot which was steeping to poor it down the drain.
perhaps you should call your in-laws if you're that worried.
ummmm/boxtops/cazzz..........are quite correct how many times do we type on AB.........A=accident B=Emergency.

No wonder Health Care in the UK is at breaking point.
walk-in centres are a wonderful thing - if you've got any.

Likewise GPs - if you can see them in less than a week.

But if firewatch lives somewhere like welsh, where they tell you to go to A&E, then she might as well do that. The NHS doesn't work the same everywhere.
Pop some Arnica cream on it - helps to bring out the bruising.
So we have NHS 24...walk-in centres...A&E....GPs.....how many more levels of health care does the British public want?
Question Author
still sore today but less tender mil reckons the lump underneath is muscular. will put some arnica on it after bath time tonight to help tonightx
