My 4 year old daughter went to grab my husband's phone twice on Saturday, but missed both times and her hand ended up going on his plate! We didn't like it to be honest and thought maybe she was just tired.

This morning, she was in a bit of a rush getting ready for school so told her to hurry up and put her trainers on (she has P.E). I could hear her getting annoyed etc, anyway I soon realised she'd put her trainers on the wrong feet. I hope it's just because the trainers are a similar shape. I think I'd have been more worried if she'd put her shoes on the right feet as shoes are more obvious shapes.

I'm hoping it's just tiredness or should I maybe get her eyes tested?

shoes on the wrong feet, that should say! lol
no i would not be worried in the slightest - she is 4!
Same as Bednobs.....

Putting shoes on the wrong feet at 4 is completely normal. Especially if you're rushing her.
2 day history of questionable symptoms.......at this stage...just monitor the situation for the next couple of months.

No you shouldn't be worried and at this stage I would not seek an Ophthalmic or Medical. opinion.
Worry if she does same to attend uni

Ok, thanks all. Thanks for reassuring me, I'm a terrible worrier. She never puts her shoes on the wrong feet. Think my mind is going into overdrive as my husband and I didn't like it on Sat, when she missed the phone twice. Bit strange. Yep Sqad, will monitor situation. Oh and is it ok to e-mail you this week? Just thought I'd update you on my husband - we have a potential diagnosis and he has treatments lined up so will fill you in x
Miss C....please feel free....I would be very interested.

Thanks Sqad, will e-mail you tonight xx
at 4 she probably should be having a pre-school eyesight checkup anyway. It wont hurt to get her checked out, though i think the putting on shoes is just one of those things that kids to sometimes. My son has done it recently and hes 6.
Miss commando we can't take risks with children, yes it may be noting but if it turns out to be something then you'll never forgive yourself for notgoing sooner, remember many illness's can be diagnosed through our eyes so sooner is better than later.
Hopefull it's nothing but at least then you'll have peace of mind as stress and worry isn't good for us.
I wouldnt worry, my son regularly puts his shoes on the wrong feet and he is 11, mind you he is autistic I suppose. at age 4 especially when being rushed she is bound to not be concentrating sufficiently.
feet aren't too rigid at that age. It's been said that a five year old learns she has four feet: the left foot, the right foot, the wrong foot and the other foot.

All the same, do keep an eye on how she sees things. I was always cross that jno jnr didn't listen to me, as children don't, but it wasn't till a few years later I realised he actually had glue ear; I should perhaps have been a bit more alert to his symptoms.
