another omeprazole question

How long does it take for omeprazole to make a difference to reflux symptoms?

Baby started taking it on Saturday and so far the vomitting seems worse, wondered if it needed a bit of time to start working like Ranitidine does.

If it hasn't worked by next Saturday, it isn;t going to work at all.
I am prescribed Omeprazole, it gets rid of my acid reflux but makes me nauseous and sometimes makes me vomit. It worked for my reflux symptoms within hours of the first dose.
I take omeprazole, but it is prescribed with metoclopramide, which stops the nausea. Ask your GP if your baby can take something similar.

oh brilliant! a drug which has been prescribed to stop her vomitting, could actually be the cause....

I'll give it till friday morn then, if no change I'll put her back on ranitidine.

Thanks everyone.
Very sensible. :-)
It took about four days for it to start working with my little one x
I`ve been taking it for years with no problems, and no acid reflux.

thanks squsal & carlton - today has not been as bad but still worse than when she was on Ranitadine and she's been miserable instead of puking as much.
